But, but, but how is this even possible?
The media frequently portrays governmental corruption as a “conspiracy theory.” Guess what, though? It’s not.
This explains how cities with tax receipts in the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars can experience deficits and see their communities deteriorate into essentially hostile environments.
Are you trying to find a pattern among these “****hole” cities? Try to guess which party has the majority of them, if not all. Indeed, the Democrats…
The Gateway Pundit’s one and only Christina Laila reports:
A federal grand jury accused three prominent Democratic city officials in St. Louis for accepting financial bribes.
Lewis Reed, the alderman president, John Collins-Muhammad, the recently-resigned alderman for the 21st ward, and Jeffrey Boyd, the alderman for the 22nd ward, were all charged with accepting money in exchange for favors from the political system and land deals, according to KMOV.
The crimes took place between January 1 and March 31, 2020.
KMOV stated:
A federal grand jury has charged three people, including the president of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, on corruption-related allegations.
Lewis Reed, the president of the board of aldermen, Jeffrey Boyd, the alderman for the 22nd ward, and John Collins-Muhammad, the alderman for the 21st ward who recently resigned, were all charged with crimes on Thursday. They are all alleged to have received considerable sums of money in a large number of payments in exchange for political favors and land deals.
Collins-Muhammad is charged with accepting and consenting to accept money, gifts for his campaign, a car, and other valuables in connection with two of John Doe’s projects and his trucking and hauling business.
Additionally, he is charged with using a cellphone intentionally to commit the crime. He was also charged with wire fraud and acting intentionally in a plot to “defraud and deprive” the residents of his ward. He was charged with two counts of bribery and one count of honest services bribery/wire fraud.
In order to “be influenced and rewarded in connection with a business, transaction, and series of transactions” involving one of John Doe’s projects and his company, Reed allegedly accepted a steady stream of financial payments and campaign contributions. Additionally, he is charged with using his cellphone for illegal purposes. He was charged with two counts of bribery.
Boyd is charged with knowing taking benefits such as money and car repairs with the purpose of being “influenced and rewarded,” as well as using a cell phone for illegal behavior. He was charged with two counts of bribery and two additional counts of wire fraud for allegedly obtaining $22,000 from his insurance company fraudulently.
Via Fox 2 St. Louis, federal prosecutors explain the indictment of city officials:
