Joe Biden Condemns Deadly Violence In Portland, Urging Trump To Do Same.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden released a a lengthy statement condemning the protest that turned violent leading to the death of one person in Portland, Oregon on Saturday evening, urging President Donald Trump to equally do same.

The clash started a day after a man was shot and killed after confrontations between Trump’s supporters and Black Lives Matter demonstrators.

Biden in his statement described the violence as “deadly” and completely “unacceptable”.

“The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable, I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same.” He said on Sunday.

From the videos from the event, protesters were seen hurling things like water bottles at the Trump caravan and Trump supporters were shooting protesters with paint balls that looked like pepper spray.

Months after the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, there have been nightly protests in Portland.
