Emma Hayes Reacts To Chelsea Women’s Success; Says It was As A Result Of Major Building Process

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes says Chelsea women’s success has come over a long term building period, stating also that she believes her side’s women’s Community Shield win over Manchester City is testament to major building process that has happened when she was in charge.

Chelsea became the first team to win the Women’s Community Shield since 2008 after they scored 2-0 at Wembley on Saturday.

You have to remember I’ve been here nine years. This hasn’t just happened, I haven’t just assembled a team overnight.

This has taken some time to build a quality team, and I am so lucky to be given the chance to manage at Chelsea and be given the trust by the club to build players that have stuck with me,” Hayes said.

However Hayes also stated that it was a shame for the fixtures to be played out with empty stands at England’s National Stadium
