Not that it is impossible that all witnesses to the events on January 6th committed suicide, but I find it difficult to trust the government’s claim when this keeps occurring.
According to the Washington Post, ‘Metropolitan Police Officer Jeffrey Smith, a 12-year veteran, and US Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood, a 16-year veteran, have both committed suicide.’
I have to say that I find it odd that Pelosi meets with ‘witnesses’ who match her talking points to a T before the hearings, while others are being discovered dead of suicide… I don’t know what to make of it… Take from it what you will, but here is the story as reported by the New York Times:
‘A police officer who was on duty when an angry crowd stormed the United States Capitol on January 6 has committed suicide, becoming the third responding officer to do so, according to a report released Monday.
Police Officer Gunther Hashida, who joined the DC police in 2003, passed away this week, according to the department’s official announcement.
Officer Gunther Hashida, assigned to the Emergency Response Team under the Special Operations Division, was discovered dead in his home on Thursday, July 29th, according to a department representative, Kristen Metzger, who spoke to CNN about the death.

It is unknown why or how Hashida committed suicide, and his family has made no mention of the revolt when discussing his death. According to CNN, he was the third officer guarding the Capitol on that particular day to take his own life.
An online fundraising campaign {gofund me page} created by his family has raised more than $200,000 so far. According to the website, Hashida “leaves behind a loving wife, sister, three children, and a lovely family.” However, there is no mention of Hashida’s death in connection with the rioting in the post.
“In his employment as an officer with the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, he strived to serve and protect the public,” the family stated in a statement. “He was a dedicated husband and parent,” says his wife.
The page, which was created on Sunday, had collected more than $12,000 by the afternoon of Monday.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family of MPD Officer Hashida at this sad time,” said Democratic US Representative Elaine Luria, who represents Virginia. “We understand that the grief of January 6 is still fresh in the minds of so many policemen.”
