In his latest investigative exposé, Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, Breitbart News senior contributor and Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President Peter Schweizer reveals how 23 former U.S. senators and congressmen have lobbied for Chinese military or intelligence-linked companies after leaving office.
Several members of Congress gain money after they leave office by working as lobbyists for companies and other special interests. Nonetheless, it would be hoped that they would refrain from becoming advocates for America’s major economic and political opponent — communist China — by campaigning for results that are detrimental to the long-term interests of the United States.
Many former lawmakers, including committee chairs and rank-and-file members, are shown in Schweizer’s book to be advocating on behalf of Chinese intelligence and military-linked enterprises.
Members of Congress who have advocated for Chinese military or intelligence corporations include the following 23 former members of Congress, with the bulk of them being Republicans:

John Boehner, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (R-OH)
Boehner’s support for China started as soon as he was elected Speaker of the House and the Republicans achieved an unprecedented majority in the chamber.
As early as 2011, Congress was working on a currency manipulation law, the Currency Exchange Oversight Reform Act, that would make it easier for the United States to hold China responsible for artificially depreciating its currency and making it easier for the country to increase exports.
China then engaged Squire Patton Boggs, a powerful D.C. legal firm, for $35,000 per month to stop the bill.
The Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C., registered SPB as a foreign agent following decades of tight connections.
The Senate passed the Chinese currency manipulation measure 63-35, with overwhelming bipartisan backing.
Despite the backing of half of the House Republican Conference and an “overwhelming” number of Democrats, Boehner refused to allow a vote on the plan.
He said the law will cause a trade war.
It is “unsurprising” that Boehner joined SPB as a “strategic adviser” to American and international clients in 2015.
Schweizer claims SPB aided Beijing in navigating “risky issues”. This includes instructions on military spending, 2020 elections, human rights, immigration, trade, and sanctions legislation.
ChemChina, China Railway Stock Corporation, Huawei, and Wanhua Chemical Group are among the clients of Boehner’s business.
Chinese state-owned media often cite SPB lawyers criticizing trade and technological limitations on Chinese enterprises operating in the US.
Nick Chan, a senior partner at SPB in China, is also a member of the governing National People’s Congress (NPC).
“The NPC is the highest state institution in China,” SPB recently said.

When I saw the title of your column I thought “I hope he includes all the Republicans a well.” It wasn’t a surprise to me. What I’d like to know is how the American people can fix this. As a Canadian I worry about this dilemma in America. We Canadians are in a battle with a would be totalitarian dictator, whose job accomplishments is as a part time drama teacher, and part time snowboard instructor. Having a strong nation south of our Border has always given us a sense of security.

Military Tribunal is perhaps the only way to actually achieve anything legally.
