No Action Have Been Taken By The U.S Despite Trump’s Vows To Withdraw From WHO.

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would put a stop to the cooperation with the World Health Organisation amid the global pandemic.

The announcement is yet to spark formal actions because the American institutions still maintain a longstanding relationships with the international agency based in Geneva.

Trump blamed World Health Organisation for their inability hold China to give a clear record of how Covid-19 started circulating in Wuhan, saying he would stop all funds and terminate the longstanding relationship with all the bodies affiliated to the United Nations.

Two weeks after Trumps announcement, no formal effort was taken towards the withdrawal of the United States.

“President Trump’s decision to suspend funding to the WHO pending a full review of the organization’s mismanagement of the coronavirus outbreak in no way diminishes U.S. leadership on global health matters, including the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The United States is the world’s single-largest global health donor, and the American people have continued that legacy of generosity in the global fight against COVID-19.

The United States has committed $10.2 billion to the global COVID-19 response. At the same time, we continue to ensure that the substantial U.S. funding and scientific efforts on this front remain a central and coordinated part of the worldwide effort against COVID-19,” the  a National Security Council spokesman, John Ullyot, said.

The Covid-19 virus was detected first by The WHO which is caused by coronavirus through some pneumonia cases in Wuhan on 31st December 2019.
