New York is gradually phasing out of the almost 4 months lockdown. In response to the pandemic, The Governor Andrew Cuomo warned everyone to stay “smart” and adhere strictly to all precautions.

“I say to the citizens of this state who are the ones who accomplished the impossible, they are the ones who reduce that transmission rate: You have to stay smart. Keep doing what we’re doing. Don’t let up,” he said at a Saturday press conference. “Don’t think, ‘Well, now we’re reopening. Everything is fine. The weather’s better. Everything is fine. I hear New York is doing well.’ It is, but only because of what you are doing.

That’s been the secret from day one. You stop doing what you’re doing. You’ll see those numbers turn,” Cuomo said.

He also went further react to the video where the people of New York were seen neglecting the precautions saying in a tweet that they should not “make me come down there”.

However, Cuomo has been criticised for his response to the pandemic but he argued that they are strictly following guidelines given by Trump’s administration, stating that they have been no indication of increasing cases and hospitalizations as seen in other states despite the fact that the state was the hardest hit in the country.
