Early this morning, federal officials raided the home of a former employee in Donald Trump’s Justice Department who had met with the president to discuss manipulating the 2020 election. Agents took the ex-electronics officials because they likely contained conversations related to January 6.
The entire episode, it appears, was precipitated by his intention to research electoral fraud in 2020.

According to federal sources who spoke to Fox News, former Justice Department employee and Trump administration official Jeffrey Clark’s home was searched.
On Wednesday, police enforcement was reportedly active in the area around Clark’s home in Lorton, Virginia, according to Fox News and a representative from the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC. The individual still wouldn’t provide any further information. On January 6, a House Select Committee will hold hearings concerning their investigation, and Clark’s name is sure to come up.
The District of Columbia United States Attorney’s Office has no comment about the nature of the action or any individuals involved.
NBC News reports that during the latter months of the Trump administration, Clark served as acting assistant attorney general for the Civil Division. According to his former coworkers, he “strongly believed” that the 2020 election results were stolen.
According to DOJ protocols, Clark met with White House officials directly to discuss election theories rather than using the proper channels.
The comment seems even more prescient: “He’s meeting with the president, and now he wants to be briefed by the [Director of National Intelligence] about thermostats?” Although I now see it, at the time, I thought, “He’s meeting with the president, and now he wants to be short.
What is the deal with Jeff Clark, anyway? As interim attorney general, Trump’s pick Jeffrey Rosen went before the Senate Judiciary Committee a year ago.
