Galatasary offers Michy Batshuayi Option to resurrect career.

After january rumours that Roma ‘want to sign Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi during the January transfer window’ as they look for competition for Edin Dzeko.

The 26-year-old has found himself warming the benches at Stamford Bridge through large portions of the ongoing campaign, with Frank Lampard predominantly relying on newcomer Tammy Abraham and veteran Olivier Giroud in the No.9 role.

According to claims from Turkish newspaper Fotomac, out-of-favour Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is the subject of interest from Galatasaray, who are prepared to offer the Belgian international an option to resurrect his career.

Batshuayi has done well in the domestic cup competitions this term, scoring 4 goals in 4 appearances, but has found playtime hard to come by in the Premier League.

The Belgian’s only league start for the Blues this season came in the 2-0 defeat against Man United back in February, with the striker coming under criticism for missing several clear goalscoring opportunities.

Fotomac claims that Galatasaray have lined up Batshuayi as a potential replacement for star striker Radamel Falcao, who is attracting interest from several clubs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The 26-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Marseille for a fee of €39 million in the summer of 2016, has never really managed to establish himself as a regular starter in West London, spending time on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace.

Returns of 25 goals in 77 appearances for Chelsea look more than decent on paper,

considering that most of those outings have come as cameos off the bench, but Batshuayi is now willing to move on in search of regular playtime.

Several reports have emerged in the press claiming that Chelsea are on the lookout for a new striker in the summer, with Moussa Dembele, Lautaro Martinez and Timo Werner among the Blues rumoured targets.

To that end, Batshuayi moving to Galatasaray could be ideal for all parties involved, not least that it would hand a sizeable boost to Chelsea’s transfer kitty.
