Ilhan Omar Defends The Push To Destroy Police Department.

Rep. Ilhan Omar reacts to the murder of George Floyd and defended the call to destroy the Minneapolis Police Department stating that the department is at the point where it cannot be reformed.

She also stated that coverage of Minneapolis decision is misleading and that the city’s policing system is “rotten to the root”.

“A new way forward can’t be put in place if we have a department that is having a crisis of credibility, if we have a department that’s led by a chief who’s suited for racism, if we have a department that hasn’t solved half of the homicides, And so, you can’t really form a department that is rotten to the root. What you can do is rebuild,” Omar said during a Sunday appearance on CNN’s “State Of The Union”.

Her statement came in the wake of the death of George Floyd who was murdered by a white police officer. The protests however triggered lots of arguments on wether police department should be reformed or refunded.

  3. It’s not easy solving homicides, for you to say rebuild and that our police are rotten, you yourself is rotten from the core. You people do nothing but bash the police, but never want tot talk about the real problems, there are black kids picking up guns in the streets, the crime rates in the cities are at a all time high, people are stealing and breaking into peoples business, and to put it into your perspective black and white and Latino owned businesses. You don’t understand nothing, especially like most of the democrats in office, let’s investigate them, they have all these millions of dollars, and I’m sure that the government doesn’t pay them that much.
