Jan. 6 committee subpoenas six people hours before State of the Union address

On Tuesday, just hours before President Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech, the House committee investigating the Capitol riot of January 6 filed six subpoenas.

Among those who were served with subpoenas were Cleta Mitchell, Kenneth Chesebro, Christina Bobb, Katherine Friess, Kurt Olsen, and Phillip Kline, all of whom are lawyers.

Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said in a press release that the committee is looking for information about any attempts to disrupt or delay the certification of electoral votes, as well as any efforts to corruptly change the outcome of the 2020 election, which is scheduled for November. “The six persons we’ve subpoenaed today all have expertise in those areas, and their testimony will assist the Select Committee in better understanding all of the many techniques being used to possibly influence the result of the election,” said the chairman.

Mitchell, a former Oklahoma state representative, and conservative activist was accused by the committee of spreading suspicions of election fraud to legislators and engaging in then-President Donald Trump’s post-election phone chat with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Attorney Kenneth Chesbro, of the Appalette law firm, “actively supported legal theories inside the Trump campaign supporting the use of slates of fraudulent electors,” according to the committee’s findings.

According to the panel, Bobb, the anchor of OAN’s “Weekly Briefing,” was involved in the preparation of an executive order authorizing the government to take voting equipment.

The committee said that Katherine Friess, an attorney who filed a lawsuit last week to prevent the committee from acquiring her phone records on Jan. 6, was also engaged in the executive order to take voting equipment, according to the committee.

According to the committee, attorney Olsen was engaged in a legal proceeding that “would have required the Department of Justice to ‘take voter action,'” according to the committee.

A meeting between Trump and more than 300 state legislators was organized by Kline, the Amistad Project Director and Liberty University professor, according to the panel. Kline reportedly wanted to share proof of election fraud with Trump and the legislators.

The subpoenas were issued only hours before Vice President Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech to Congress. The committee is under pressure to complete its inquiry within the next year since it is unclear that the panel would be allowed to continue its work if Republicans win control of the House in the November election.

  3. These demonrats r committing crime after crime and r not being held accountable and as long as they r in power they never will but they enjoy going after Republicans. They forget about God. They will pay for every wrong they committed when they stand before God. Everyone will. I wish for once they would hold all that money that they cheat steal and lie for in their hand and ask themselves is this worth spending eternity in hell. Of course they would probably laugh at anyone for saying it but guess what they laughed at Noah for building the ark and they drowned. God said REVENGE is mine thus saith the Lord and I WILL REPAY. He will in his own time and in his own way. I had to quit getting angry at these people and learn to let God handle them. I pray that one day they will open their eyes and turn to God because he loves them but when time is up they will face his wrath and that is gonna be bad. There is good and bad in this world and it is our choice to make which path we go down. God loves us all but he will never make anyone live for him it’s our choice.
