“The President of the United States should bring dignity to the office that he serves. He should be a unifying force in our country. We have seen that with Democratic and Republican presidents all along. They have seen their responsibility to be the President of the United States, to unify our country and not to fuel the flame,” She said.
Speaking with the ABC News anchor, she said that past Democratic and Republican presidents have been a unifying force in the United States and brought dignity to the office, suggesting that Trump should unify and not divide the country.
When she was asked about how she interpreted Trump’s tweet “looting leads to shooting”, she quickly said she isn’t “paying attention to what he said”, but “talking about injustice, the knee in the neck”.
She however emphasized on the former president Barack Obama’s statement suggesting that the country needs to create ‘a new normal’.
She called on the people of America to put difference aside, come together and be prayerful.
