“People Will Do What They Do”- Nancy Pelosi Denies Mob Destruction Of Statues.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi  questioned about the toppling of a statue of Christopher in Baltimore by angry protesters quickly declined admonishing protesters saying “People will do what they do.”

She went ahead and said the statue’s removal doesn’t diminish her pride in her Italian American heritage, adding she doesn’t care much about statues.

The Columbus statue was pulled down and thrown into the Inner Harbor by protesters on Saturday. The statue had stood near Baltimore’s “Little Italy” neighborhood and was put in place in 1984.

Nancy Pelosi has supported an effort to remove Confederate statues from the Capitol but has drawn a distinction between targeting those who committed treason against the U.S. and past presidents who owned enslaved people.
