The Democratic state senator from Illinois, Thomas Cullerton, resigned from his position on Wednesday after he made the decision to plead guilty to being a dishonest crook. I mean, I took it for granted when I saw the (D) following his name, and I’m sure you did, too. In any case, he intends to plead guilty to 40 charges of theft from a labor union, according to court documents. As a consequence of a plea bargain, many of those charges will almost certainly be dismissed.
Cullerton conspired with former Teamsters head John Coli to set up a ghost patrols operation in their neighborhood. Cullerton was forced to resign from the union when he was elected to the position of state Senator, but the arrangement would enable him to continue receiving compensation in exchange for a possible payoff to Coli.

If all of Illinois’ corrupt Democrats were imprisoned, the Republicans would have the majority for good. Most Democrats, on the other hand, are better at avoiding detection. Keep in mind that both Obama and Hillary are from the Windy City.
Following his election to the California Senate, Cullerton was accused of continuing to be a member of Teamsters Local Union 734, including his pay and benefits, despite though he was no longer eligible to do so. According to the indictment, Cullerton “willfully embezzled money from Teamsters Joint Council 25.” According to some reports, Cullerton also obtained employee perks from Local 734 by using his position with the Teamsters Joint Council 25 to do nothing.
He was charged with receiving $188,320 in compensation and other perks such as a cell phone and a vehicle package.
It was also claimed that despite performing little or no work for the union, Cullerton was being paid for $21,678 in medical bills funded by the Teamsters Local Union 734 Health and Welfare Fund while doing little or no labor for the union, according to federal prosecutors.
In addition to the 39 charges of theft from a labor organization, Cullerton was also charged with one count of making false statements, according to CBS.
Following Cullerton’s resignation from the Illinois Senate, Democratic Senate President Don Harmon issued a statement in which he expressed gratitude for Cullerton’s “almost decade” of service in the chamber, according to CBS.

“For over a decade, Tom Cullerton represented the 23rd Senate District in the United States Senate. “I am looking forward to welcoming and cooperating with a new senator from the district,” Harmon said, according to the news agency. “There’s a lot of work to be done for the people of Illinois,” says the governor.
